I used to be a big PizzaHut fan, especially when they used to call their pan pizzas "Deep Dish".
Even though that name is hardly used, so is the quality of the pizza and its ingredients. With a huge market and competition for pizza delivery, the number one focus should be making great pizza... Of course, in addition to customer service.
The PizzaHut Pizza market has turned into a cheese-frenzy and when you order a pizza, expect a lot of cheese. Even asking for "Easy on Cheese" will still give you a fair amount of cheese... Based on approximately 15 past orders... PizzaHut Pizza is made out of 93% cheese and dough... 7% of it is toppings and 1% is sauce.
What ever happened to the pizza sauce? The most crucial part of a pizza is the pizza sauce. If you actually look at a slice of PizzaHut pizza, it literally contains almost no sauce. PizzaHut's Stuffed Crust and pan pizza will give you about a half an inch of cheese or more embedded in toppings... this is what I assume makes the pizza look "thick" or full...
The crust on almost every single pizza is getting thinner as the years go by... By hey, at least if you like tons of greasy cheese, pizza hut will definitely serve you right. Even asking for extra sauce.. it seems as if they are still reluctant to do so... You might want to call and say "I will pay for extra sauce please" otherwise, they will not add it.
I generally order my pizza online at pizzahut.com. This is typically the fast preferred method.. hence why they got 2/5. The online ordering allows you to easily build your own pizza and order instantly without needing to talk to a representative... But maybe the special instructions box doesn't work.
The first two pizza's this month was very disappointing... it basically followed the scenario above... When placing a new order (this time by phone) I mentioned I had a VIP free pizza coupon that I would like to use... After distant yelling about a free pizza coupon they never heard of.... I ordered a Large Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza with extra sauce...
I received a large cheese pizza with no sauce.
That of course was my last PizzaHut purchase ever recorded.
But the bottom line is if your looking for a place that knows how to make true pizza with great pizza sauce, flavor and quality... then try somewhere else! Because its always good to break bad habits.
